Julia Plunkett
About Me...
My name is Julia Plunkett and I am a junior studying gerontology at Youngstown State University. I enjoy boating with my family, wakeboarding, wake-surfing, and riding jet-skis. I am currently studying abroad at Sant'Anna Institute. While I am here, I am completing my internship requirements by working at a nearby nursing home. I am interning at Casa San Michele, an elderly home located in a town near Sorrento called Piano di Sorrento. I am very grateful for this special opportunity. I have learned quite a bit about older people, and I am interested in learning about people from different cultures. Although I have not worked all my life, I have volunteered for most of it. I have volunteered at my church for different occasions such as dinners, bible school, and concerts. I have also volunteered at my local library for summer and winter reading programs, and the local rotary group with their golf outings and chicken barbecues. When I started college, I knew that I wanted to help people and to travel. I am currently living my dream and loving it. If I can make somebody smile or make some one’s day better, I feel like I had a successful day.
