ABOUT ME
I am a junior at Youngstown State University, studying gerontology. I am currently studying abroad at Sant'Anna Institute in Sorrento, Italy. While I am here, I am completing my internship requirements by working at a nearby nursing home.
WHAT I'VE DONE
Although I have not worked all my life, I have volunteered for most of it. I have volunteered at my church for different occasions such as dinners, bible school, and concerts. I have also volunteered at my local library for summer and winter reading programs, and the local rotary group with their golf outings and chicken barbeques.
WHAT I DO
I am interning at Casa di Risposo San Michele, an elderly home located in a town near Sant'Anna called Piano di Sorrento. I am very happy about this special opportunity. I have learned quite a bit about older people, and I am interested in learning about people from different cultures, how they treat, prevent, and diagnose issues with the older population
